Okay now i want to write why this blog even exists. The past few years I've been going on budget trips to places like Hong Kong, Macau, Bali, Bangkok and soon Guilin and Taiwan this year. I am the type who likes to know everything about that place before i go on the trip, as in check google....and search all forums, websites the information about the country i am visiting...like what food to eat, interesting places to visit, how to get to that place. A very detailed itinerary planning. But i'm basically a cheapskate but i still want to experience everything. If possible, i rather walk or take bus than take the expensive cab.
Anyway i decided to create a blog so that I can share with everyone (mainly my friends) about my previous trips, and i really love to help my friends to plan out their itinerary. I got this sense of satisfaction whenever i help my friends actually. So why I decided why not i build a blog with all the details of my previous trips in it rather than i pass the info to them one by one.
And now comes the name...virginhut.
The name virginhut came from a failed plan with some friends to create a business website to generate side-income....by selling condoms. Yeap condom. We even bought the domain name and the hosting plan as well. However not long after our partnership had started, it somehow collapsed and we just abandoned the idea. I was a cool idea at first but we soon found out that it wasn't easy.To get good discount, we needed to spend alot of dough to buy the condoms in bulk . Also we were lacking a warehouse and finally, it may not be entirely legal to sell in our country. I was reading the newspaper one fine day and i saw an article how the local authority raided some shops selling sex related stuff.
Funny cause today i checked my credit card statement and the hosting company (NEXX) behind virginhut.com charged me USD71.40 for renewal. This came as a huge surprise to me as I explicitly told them to turn off virginhut's auto-renewal. Arghh...piss me off when i think about it. Now i am asking them to cancel that charge. Okay as i was thinking of a name for this blog like about 10mins ago... i decided upon virginhut as i didnt want to think too much about it. Been a long day and I want to goto sleep (who am i kidding, i'm insomniac) so i got lazy and just picked virginhut.blogspot.com. Simple easy and who cares the damn.
And that's how the name virginhut was used for this blog :) Oh ya this is my 1st post /wink.
